Power to the Golgo

Hail all, the computer whiz kid. For the last 6 or 7 months, my computer has been stalling on boot up 90% of the time. Most of the time, I got real pissed off, threw in the towel, and booted up the Xbox. If, by some miracle, I got the rig booted into windows, all systems are go. I couldn’t figure out the problem. I investigated as best I could over half a year, and came to shvorteen different conclusions. A taste of the slop:

a) Processor fried beyond bootable recognition. Turns out, Pentium 4 processors can take a beating. Problem solved? Nope.

b) Ok, figured it out. Cooling issue. my Northbridge chipset fan died. The guys at Abit make a nice board, but when the fan dies and doesn’t tell anybody… come on. Those ear piercing ball bearing noises it was making 6 months ago shouldn’t have clued me in or anything. New Northbridge fan. Cost: $11 - Abit parts store. Problem solved? Nope.

c) Months of an inactive fan have fried the motherboard chipset. Man… must be fried more than KFC. New motherboard. Cost: $143 - PC Club. Problem solved? Nope.

d) TOO MUCH FUCKING CRAP PLUGGED INTO ONE OUTLET. Problem solved?

umm. yeah.
